The certainly set the glass ceiling a lot lower, back then, didn't they? You didn't even have to strain any muscles to reach for it.

Yes, girls, if you work hard and study hard and try very, very hard to be friendly and compliant, you *may* eventually be able to work your way up to being secretary for a Very Important Man instead of making routine copies--but don't get your hopes up. We'll have to wait and see how you turn out.
